PSM, a technique developed by KraussMaffei, is used to produce sandwich components that are lightweight but rigid, for example rear shelves and door trim panels for cars. The sandwich elements - a honeycomb core between two layers of fibre mat - are sprayed with the 2C polyurethane mix and then pressed into shape in a heated mould. The polyurethane produces a strong and durable bond between the different layers. PUR Spray Moulding is a smart and simple way to produce a wide range of sandwich elements.
